If my work is about anything it is about the human being…or rather a personal investigation into what constitutes being human. I strive very much to convey a sense of the person behind the painting, particularly in portraiture, and aim to engage the viewer in an unspoken dialogue with the subject, prompting them to enquire into the ‘story’ or message of the work.
Technique and draughtsmanship is a key element of both my figurative and abstract work and I enjoy pushing whatever medium I am using to the limits of its purpose to achieve the results I am after. The work you will see within each ‘gallery’ is a small showcase of some of my most successful paintings and drawings with an opportunity to purchase, commission a portrait or to ask questions, should anyone wish to know more.
Art Tuition
Alongside my art practice, I am also a qualified and experienced art tutor specialising in life drawing and portraiture courses and workshops. The details of any future courses and workshops will be posted up here as and when they are available and also on my facebook page - so please check back regularly and link with me on facebook or maybe drop me a line on email if you would like to be kept informed.
Purchasing and Commissioning
Some of my work is available to purchase in my Etsy shop which can be accessed via the link on the left or via the 'BUY' button next to the work available to buy. However, if you would like further information about my work or would like some advice about commissioning a portrait and the costs involved, you may find it useful to read my advice and guidance notes (see left) or for more specific advice, please drop me a line on email.
Exhibitions
Whenever I'm exhibiting my work I will publicise mainly via my blog page and also via Facebook and Twitter, so please do bookmark this site and link with me to find out when and where to view my work, 'in the flesh' so to speak! Many thanks :)
